Obituary for Anne Marie Garber (Sarto)

Anne Marie (Sarto) Garber, age 79, a resident of Dracut, formerly of Billerica, passed away at Oosterman Rest Home in Melrose on Saturday, January 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Richard E. Garber with whom she enjoyed 57 years of marriage until his passing in 2020.

She was born in Boston on October 9, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (DiTommaso) Sarto.

Anne was raised in Medford. She dedicated her life to raising her children and took pride in keeping a beautiful home. She also enjoyed managing the Carlisle Superette and the family locksmith business. Most importantly, she was a proud homemaker and always had a house full of people and a table full of food for anyone who stopped by. She was friendly, kind and loved by anyone she crossed paths with. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with family whenever she could. She was an avid reader and loved her trips to Hampton Beach, North Conway, Cape Cod, and Wells. She will be missed dearly as she was the heart and soul of her family.

Anne is survived by her four children, Ronald Garber and his wife Robin, Richard Garber Jr. and his wife Michele, Robert Garber, and Karrie Garber Mason; her grandsons, John, Ronald Jr., Richard, Nicholas, Cameron, and Andrew; her great-granddaughters Baylee, Olivia, and Hannah; her siblings, George Sarto and his wife Judy and Maureen Sudduth and her husband Richard; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Sadly, in addition to her husband, Anne is predeceased by her brother, Patrick Sarto.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 22nd from 11am to 1pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, followed by a memorial service at 1:15pm. Interment will be private.
