Anthony “Tony” Patronick, 41, a resident of West Lebanon, NH, originally of Dracut, passed away on December 19, 2022.
Tony was the beloved husband of Krista M. (Perry) Patronick, with whom he shared 9 years of marriage, and 15 years of love and laughter together. He was a cat dad to Beefy Patronick, a 30-pound house hippo, and Tater Tot, an asthmatic speed demon.
Tony was born in Lowell on March 13, 1981, and was the son of Patricia Zabbo of Londonderry, NH and the late Stephen Patronick of Lowell.
Tony was raised in Dracut, where he graduated from Dracut High School in 1999. He met the love of his life in college at UMass Lowell, where he graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He was a lover of all New England and UMass Lowell sports – especially hockey. He worked for many years as a camp counselor and assistant program director at Kingsley Pines Camp in Raymond, ME where he made many lifelong friends. Tony will be remembered for his extraordinary sense of humor and his “eccentric” taste in music (that of a 13-year-old girl stuck in the 90s, with all the boy bands plus a dash of 80s hair metal).
In addition to his loving wife and mother, Tony is survived by his older brother, Stephen; his younger brother, Matthew, his sister-in-law Christine; his parents-in-law, Stephen and Carol Perry of Seekonk; and his sister-in-law Kendra Langevin and her husband Nathan of Haverhill. He was a loving uncle to Benjamin and Miles Patronick, and Nathan and Ella Langevin. He also leaves many extended family members including aunts, uncles, and his beloved cousins.
Tony was faced with a number of health complications over the last few years but was never one to dwell on his misfortunes. An avid wrestling fan and “Jim Cornette Cult” member, he penned a letter to Cornette in August, 2022, explaining that “Things really went t*ts up, as they say… My kidneys had enough of my bull****.”
It would not be his wish for anyone to lament over him. Instead, he’d want a celebration of life, healthy criticism of the far right, strategizing for the next blue wave, discussion of the expanded college football playoff, any of a variety of “pick one” memes, and why UMass Lowell hockey is superior to Amherst.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 7th from 1pm to 3pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 3 pm. Please wear your most formal Crocs and beloved sports attire, as long as it is not UMass Amherst (#NotHisFlagship).
The family will seek to establish a hockey scholarship at UMass Lowell in Tony’s name. In lieu of flowers, donations to the scholarship fund can be sent via check, made out to Anthony Patronick Scholarship Fund, to: Anthony Patronick Scholarship Fund, PO Box 5035, West Lebanon, NH, 03784. Alternatively, Venmo @krista-patronick and write “Anthony Patronick Scholarship” in the notes section.
