Obituary for Barbara C. (Hinsley) Moran
Barbara C. Moran, age 100, a longtime resident of Dracut, MA passed away at Hunt Community on May 22, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife (“My Girl”) of the late Edward “Eddie” Moran with whom she enjoyed 58 years of marriage before his passing.
She was born in Worcester, MA on July 11, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Edward and Mabel (Bartlett) Hinsley.
Barbara and her husband Eddie founded Dracut Appliance Center in 1949, a family-owned business that continues to be operated by their son, Stephen, his wife Brenda, and their sons. An avid golfer, Barbara was a member of Nashua Country Club for 50 years and a member of their bridge club. In her earlier years, she spent countless summers at the family home in Hampton Beach, NH. Barbara loved to travel, visiting many places with her husband Eddie. Boynton Beach, Florida became their second home where she belonged to Cypress Creek Golf Course. She loved passing time playing cards and reading. Most of all, Barbara cherished the time she spent with her family; it was her favorite time.
Barbara is survived by her children, Timothy E. Moran and his wife Lynn of Derry, NH, and Stephen P. Moran and his wife Brenda of Dracut, MA; her 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara is predeceased by her brothers, Bob and Ray.
