Bernadette M. (Lipka) Piekos, 94, a resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, MA passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Saints Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Clinton, MA Bernadette moved to Lowell as a young girl and could be seen roller skating up and down Charles. St. in the Polish community that settled there. Educated in Lowell, she was a graduate of St. Stanislaus grammar school, Lowell High School and Cosmetology School of Lawrence MA. Bernadette was a lifelong communicant of Holy Trinity Polish Church, the Sodality of Our Lady of Czestochowa and Holy Trinity Senior Association.
She was predeceased by her husband Thaddeus A. Piekos, her parents Teofil and Julianna (Zalewska) Lipka and her siblings Stanley T. Lipka, Chester N. Lipka and Helen T. (Lipka) Faber. She leaves two sons, Martin A. Piekos and his wife Peggy Piekos and Thomas A. Piekos. She also leaves seven grandchildren. Amy Piekos. Sarah Piekos, Rebecca Piekos, Joshua Piekos, Kristen Piekos, Caitlin Piekos, Justin Piekos and his wife Kara Piekos. There are 6 great grandchildren and one more on the way.
Bernadette was most proud of her two sons and their families and special nieces and nephews, Patricia (Faber) Wrobel, Ted Faber, MaryAnn (Szymaszek) Greenwood, Manya Piekos Burke and all of her other nieces and nephews. Bernadette sadly missed her best friend Wanda Bardzik and a dear sister-in-law, Helen Szymaszek who predeceased her. Also leaving behind a special friend Helen Strykowski who called her every day to chat about life.
Funeral Services and Interment will be held privately.
