Campbell Scott Gibson passed peacefully on April 19, 2023 from complications due to Parkinson’s Disease with his wife, Eileen (Shields) Gibson by his side.
He was born on April 26, 1951 to the late Campbell J. Gibson and Doris (Lunt) Gibson.
Scott, as he was well known, grew up and made many lifetime friends in the Lowell and Dracut areas. He served his country proudly as an Army SP4 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Scott’s passions, besides his family and friends, were the beach, the Red Sox and the Patriots. He will be sadly missed by the many people whose lives he touched. He was a humble, kind soul who won the hearts of everyone with his warm smile. He was well respected as the Assistant Deputy Superintendent at the Billerica House of Correction and as a Lead Lineman at Eversource Energy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Scot C. Gibson and his partner Quyen Nguyen, and Tyler J. Gibson and his wife Nhi; his grandchildren whom he adored, Leyla, Grace, Mackenzie, and Callen Gibson; his stepmother, Joan Gibson; his devoted brothers and sisters, Lynne Nichols and her spouse Robert, Robert Gibson and his late partner Linda Cooper, Catherine Loughran, Laurie Elmore, and Thomas Gibson and his wife Robin; along with 4 step siblings, Robert Zytkewicz, Kym Burlamachi and her spouse Mark, Douglas Zytkewicz and his wife Denise, and Scott Zytkewicz and his wife Kimberly. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and his in-laws who were his constant companions and friends, James and Dolly (Shields) McNamara and Thomas Shields and his partner, Diane Davis.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 24th from 3pm to 7pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. His Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 10am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Dracut. Donations in his memory can be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation at michaeljfox.org.
