Carl J. Cote, age 80, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away at his home on Monday, May 22, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Dolores “Dolly” (Ninteau) Cote with whom he enjoyed 57 years of marriage.

He was born in Lowell on July 13, 1942 and was a son of the late Phillip and Cecile (Prud-Homme) Cote.

Carl was a quiet and patient man with a wonderful sense of humor and silly nature. A passionate chess player, he was a former winner of the Bermuda Open Chess Championship. Carl was a dedicated family man who adored his children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his loving wife, Carl is survived by his children, Mark Cote and his wife Sally of Pelham, NH, and Donna Mayberry of Concord, VA; his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Allison Cote, and Douglas and Nathan Mayberry; his brother, Thomas Cote and his wife Elena of NM; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Phillip Cote.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl’s memory to a charity of your choice.
