Obituary for Charleen F. Macklin (LaPlante)
TOWNSEND – Charleen F. (LaPlante) Macklin, age 80, a longtime resident of Townsend, passed away at Northwood Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, March 31, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lowell on March 4, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Keane) LaPlante.
Charleen was a loving mother and Nana who cherished time spent with her family. She loved the beach and the ocean, especially ending the summer with her family at Hampton beach. Charleen loved to play cards and could watch ice skating for hours. She had a contagious laugh and could turn any phrase into a jingle.
Charleen is survived by her children, Scott Macklin and his significant other Carrie Carter of Leominster, Daniel Macklin of Townsend, and Dennis Macklin and his wife Claire of Hudson, NH; her grandchildren, Sheilagh and her husband Stephen Lewis, Maura and Riley Macklin, John Westlake and his significant other Jenny Lancey, Matthew and his wife Alex Macklin, Mark and his fiancé Isabella Perla, Molly, Taryn and Drew Macklin; Great-grandchildren, Mason and Jensen Westlake and Rowan Macklin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving parents, Charleen is predeceased by her sister, Gail Deveau, her brother Arthur LaPlante and his wife Lorraine, and her brother Thomas LaPlante.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 3rd from 1pm to 4pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. A graveside service will take place on Monday, April 4th at 10am at St. Patrick Cemetery, 1251 Gorham St., LOWELL. KINDLY MEET AT THE CEMETERY.
