Obituary for Claire Piekarski

DRACUT – Claire Piekarski, age 97, a resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William F. Piekarski.

She was born in Dracut on March 14, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Morgan) Copley.
Claire loved her family and had a lust for life. She spent winters in Boynton Beach, Florida and summers in Hampton, New Hampshire. Family was the center of her universe. She adored her six children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was loved by all.

Claire worked for the Dracut Public Schools for many years as an eye and ear technician. She served as Chair of the Dracut Conservation Commission, Dracut Booster’s Club and a member of the Polish American Veterans Club.

Claire is survived by her children; Joanne Daileanes of Dracut, Thomas Piekarski and his wife Janet St Cyr of Dracut, Steven Piekarski of Hampton, NH, William Piekarski Jr. and his wife Sandra of Rye, NH, Patricia and her husband Patrick McLaughlin of Tyngsboro and her son-in-law Ben Andrusaitis of Dracut, her grandchildren; John Daileanes, Kerry Sullivan, and Bill Daileanes, Diana Kerins, Colin and Alexa Piekarski and Kathryn McLaughlin, her great-grandchildren; Shelby, Aislinn and Ciara Sullivan, Sydney and Andrew Daileanes, Michael and Maya Daileanes, and Soren Piekarski, her siblings, William Copley, Robert Copley and Ann Swiderski, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, Claire is predeceased by her daughter, Shirley Andrusaitis, her son-in-law, Andrew Daileanes, and her siblings; John Copley, Eileen McCarron, Thomas J. Copley, Mary Campbell, Walter “Chris” Copley, and James Copley.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 8th at 11 o’clock at St. Michael Parish, 543 Bridge St., Lowell. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will be private.
