Obituary for Darlene Mary Ryan
Darlene Mary Ryan, 65, a longtime Dracut resident, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was born on October 13, 1957 and was a daughter of the late Robert W. and Carol A. (Beausoleil) Ryan.
Prior to her retirement, Darlene worked as a finance manager and traveled extensively for work.
Family was everything to Darlene. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and enjoyed hosting family and friends at her home, especially family holiday traditions after her parents passed. Darlene loved helping people, boating on Arlington Pond, and letting people know that she had her motorcycle license. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved cat Gizmo.
She is survived by her sons, Eric Shaughnessy and his girlfriend Jamie Briere of Dracut, and Robert Shaughnessy and his girlfriend Beth Cunha of Lowell; her grandchildren, Kayla, Christian, and Brooke Shaughnessy; her siblings, Lorrie Luppold and her husband Steven of Hudson, NH, Cheryl Rosberg and her husband Len of Marshfield, and Stacy Ryan of Leominster. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, many cousins, and close friends.
In addition to her parents, Darlene was predeceased by her dear friend, Karen Brown.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 25th from 1-3 pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. Interment will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Dracut at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Darlene’s name may be made to the MSPCA-Angell, Attn: Donations, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.
