Deborah Lynn “Debbie” (Meadows) Belanger, age 50, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away after a courageous hard fought battle with cancer at Lowell General Hospital on Sunday, February 26, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Richard J. Belanger.
She was born in Lowell on October 10, 1972 and was the daughter of Paula (Molivas) Meadows of Dracut and the late Jerry W. Meadows.
Debbie was a fan of 80s music and enjoyed shopping, watching old-fashioned movies, visits to the casino, and walks on the beach. An animal lover, she adored her cats, Luna, Stevie, and Ruby and her bunny, Belinda as well as her cat Mittens and dog Scruffy who have gone over the rainbow bridge. Debbie was happiest when surrounded by her family. She loved birthday celebrations, Sunday dinners, holidays, and special occasions, especially, Greek Easter. Debbie was affectionately known as "Aunt Debbie", the fun aunt and second mom to her niece and nephew, their friends, and her son's friends as well. Her Facebook name was even "Aunt Debbie".
In addition to her loving husband and mother, Debbie is survived by her son, Jason Paul Belanger of Dracut; her siblings, Patricia M. Perry and her fiancé William MacNichol of Peabody, and Jeffrey Scott Meadows and his wife Carrie of Hudson, NH; her nephew, Michael Steven Byron of Jacksonville, FL; and her niece, Alexis Mackenzie Perry of Dracut.
In addition to her father, she is predeceased by her in-laws, Linda and Norman Belanger.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 3rd from 4pm to 7pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:30am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westlawn II Cemetery, LOWELL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debbie’s name to the MSPCA at mspca.org.
