Obituary for Diana M. Brown (Silva)
Diana M. (Silva) Brown, age 73, a resident of Milford, NH, passed away at Southern NH Medical Center on Thursday, July 20, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Gordon B. Brown with whom she enjoyed 33 years of marriage until his passing in 2002.
She was born in Lowell on September 5, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Silva and Mary (Orphao) Silva-Lavoie.
Diana was a kind-hearted and caring individual. She had a compassionate nature and was deeply devoted to her family. Diana looked forward to her weekly outings with her sister and best friend Mary and loved spending her every day with her beloved son. She enjoyed reading, solitaire, crime series and her annual family beach trips. Spending time with her granddaughter and her great grandsons brought her immense joy and she cherished these moments deeply. Diana's love knew no bounds and her strength and loyalty were just a couple of her defining qualities.
Diana is survived by her son, Donald Brown of Milford, NH; her granddaughter, Samantha (Brown) VanValkenburg and her husband Kevin of Boscawen NH; her great grandchildren, Maverick and Gordon; her siblings, Mary Delaney of Dracut, Natalie Hubert and her husband Clem of Florida, Anthony Silva and his wife Yolanda of California, Richard Silva and his wife Ronnie of California, Frank Silva and his wife Karen of Fitchburg, and David Lavoie and his wife Kim of Dracut; her sister-in-law, Cookie Silva of Dracut; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Diana is predeceased by her brothers, John, Alphonse, Edward, and Albert Silva.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 3rd at 4pm at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 95 Lakeview Ave., Tyngsboro. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diana’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
