Donato J. DiRocco III, age 61, a member of a well-known Dracut family passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Sunday, May 1, 2022 following a long battle with cancer.
Donny was born on June 17, 1960 and was the son of the late Josephine and Donato DiRocco. He graduated from Dracut High School, took courses in EMT training and was an electrical journeyman. He previously worked for the Dracut Public School System for many years.
Donny had large love and enthusiasm for his Harley motorcycle, whether riding for pleasure or for many charity events. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Patriots and Bruins. He also had a lifelong passion for his drums, studied under David Bose, and after winning nationals with the Drum Corps Associates, made an album called The Chrome Wall Drum Corp.
Donny is survived by his wife, Linda Runyan, his sister, Judith Dyer and her husband John, of Dracut, his nephews, Justin Brace and Timothy Brace, his grandson, Joseph R. (Joey) DiRocco of Dunstable, and stepchildren Brittany and George Krasovich, along with many friends and family.
Donny was predeceased by his son, Marc J. DiRocco, his sister, Joyce Brace, and his former wife, Judith Ciotti.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 6th from 4pm to 7pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. Interment will be private.
