Doris T. (Garvey) Godosky, age 96, a resident of Pelham, NH., passed away at her home on Saturday, July 23, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter T. Godosky, Sr. with whom she enjoyed 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2009.
She was born in Lowell on February 22, 1926 and was the daughter of the late John and Emma (Stonehouse) Garvey.
Doris graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1943. She worked for the IRS doing clerical work for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Walter, going to the casino, being at the beach, family vacations at lake Winnipesauke, and trips to Oklahoma to see Walter’s family. Doris was a phenomenal cook; most dishes were prepared with vegetables from her husband’s garden. Mostly, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
The family would like to acknowledge the women who took such wonderful care of Doris over the past few years; Kim Silver, Laurie Wilks and Claire Wendelgest. She was able to reside at home, her happy place, as a result of their devoted love and care.
Doris is survived by her children; Walter “Tom” Godosky and his wife Janice of Sacramento, California, Gail Gagne and her husband Rick of Hudson, NH, and Carl Godosky and his wife Jeanne of N. Weymouth, her grandchildren; Stephen, Jason, Ryan, Ashley, Melissa, and Christopher, and her great grandchildren; Isabelle, Grady, Bella, and James. She also leaves nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her husband and parents, Doris is predeceased by her sister, Rita Pinard; her son, Kevin Godosky; and granddaughter, Kristin Snyder.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 30th from 10am to 12pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30pm at St. Patrick Parish, 12 Main St., Pelham, NH. Interment will follow in Gibson Cemetery, Pelham, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or by mail to, Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
