Obituary for Erwin R. Towle
DRACUT – Erwin R. Towle, age 78, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away at his home on Friday, March 25, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Carol Adams with whom he enjoyed 10 years of marriage.
He was born in Hardwick, Vermont on October 2, 1943 and was the son of the late Elwin and Natalie (Brown) Towle.
Erwin graduated from Woodsville High School in Woodsville, NH. He was the general manager for Boston and Maine Railroad and retired from Guilford Transportation Systems. Erwin loved hunting, fishing, and golfing. He enjoyed working on classic cars and motorcycles, and doing his own carpentry work. Erwin was a proud member of the Centralville Sportsmen’s Club in Dracut.
In addition to his loving wife, Erwin is survived by his children, Steven Towle and his wife Tara of Hudson, NH, Gregory Towle and his wife Bonnie of Dracut, Bruce Towle and his wife Shannon of Londonderry, NH; his stepchildren, Kelly Buchanan and her significant other William Grinham of Hudson, NH, and Richard Adams and his wife Nina of Billerica; his grandchildren, Katherine, Matthew, Nathan, Justin, Zachary and Kyle; his step-grandchildren, Allison and Holly; and his great-grandson Jacob; his sister Kathy Fiske of Washington, VT and his brother Alan Towle and his wife Sandy of Danville, VT. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his loving parents, Erwin is predeceased by his first wife, Sally Towle, who passed away in 1998 and his brother in law Kendall Fiske.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 31st from 4pm to 7pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. A Graveside Service will be held Friday at 10:00am at Oakland Cemetery, 80 Pine Valley Drive, DRACUT. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CEMETERY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
