Obituary for Frederick "Fred" A. Tuleja

Frederick (Fred) Tuleja died peacefully on June 25, 2023 after a brief illness, surrounded by his wife and stepson.

Fred was the son of the late Albert and Jean (Snay) Tuleja. Fred was born on April 15, 1948, in Lowell Massachusetts, the last of 7 children. Fred was educated in and graduated from the Lowell school system as a tradesman in carpentry.

Fred worked as a book binder in the printing industry for several decades. After retiring from his full-time job, he worked part time for several more years as a book binder consultant, a security guard and lastly opening a local gym in the neighborhood where he developed friendships with many of the patrons. He set a new standard at the company for optimal customer service.

In his younger years, Fred studied Karate earning a black belt. He got to meet Chuck Norris at a competition which he was most excited. After full retirement he took up bird watching and learned a great deal about birds and could name many by their looks and birdsong. He became a self-taught amateur photographer snapping up thousands of pictures, mostly of landscapes, and birds with some of his favorites framed and hung in his room.

He was an avid reader, loved fishing of all kinds, playing golf, and enjoyed watching PGA golf tournaments and NFL games, especially his beloved Patriots. He loved visiting Maine, especially the Wells area.

Fred leaves his wife of 20 years Donna (Brodeur) Greenhalge, stepson Robert Greenhalge and step grandson Corey Plouffe. His son Eric and his wife Erin Tuleja of Lowell and their four children, Adrienne, William, Emily and Maisey. His brothers John and Don Tuleja of California, many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; his closest friends Dennis and Carol White who orchestrated the meeting between Fred and Donna and who served as best man and maid of honor at their wedding, and many more friends too numerous to list.

Fred was predeceased by two sisters Joyce and Carol from Massachusetts, two brothers, Ed and Ray from California, and stepdaughter Casie Greenhalge of Massachusetts.

Funeral Service and Interment will be held privately.
