Obituary for Isaura Maria Costa
Isaura Maria Costa, age 84, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away at Nashoba Valley Medical Center on Sunday, September 10, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Alcindo Costa with whom she enjoyed many years of marriage until his passing in 2002.
She was born in the Azores, Portugal on May 9, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Manuel P. and Isaura A. DaSilva.
Isaura was an active member of the Holy Ghost Society of Lowell. She enjoyed listening to music, reading, watching nature programs and time spent near the ocean. She had wonderful memories of visits to Cape Cod, Rockport and a trip to Yosemite with her family. Isaura was dedicated to her family and was happiest surrounded by her loved ones, especially her granddaughter who was the light of her life. She will be dearly missed.
Isaura is survived by her son, Michael P. Costa and his wife Christine of Methuen; her granddaughter, Isabella; her siblings, Almeirinda Gomes and her husband Luis of Tewksbury, and Herberto P. DaSilva and his wife Carol of Centerville, MA. as well as sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Manuel P. DaSilva, Francisco P. DaSilva, Vital P. DaSilva, Alberto I. DaSilva, Jose Manuel P. DaSilva, Antonio P. DaSilva and Marilia Bettencourt.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 18th from 8:30am to 10:00am at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Anthony Parish, 893 Central St., Lowell. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Isaura’s memory to St. Anthony Parish.
