Obituary for Mary-Jo (Oczkowski) Beek

Mary Joanne "Mary-Jo" (Oczkowski) Beek, 73 of Pepperell, passed peacefully into eternal life on Thursday February 17, 2022 in Southern Florida surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 2, 1948, to the late Joseph Oczkowski and Mary (Reinert) Oczkowski. She fell in love and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Beek, of 55 years. As a devoted wife and mother who loved to travel, cook, entertain, and especially spend time at the beach, her legacy was the joy she found in making others happy, embodying sacrificial love. Mary-Jo’s professional career was centered in telecommunications at Wang Laboratories, Bull Telecommunications, Scully, and Digimark. She was also a Medical Assistant at Saro Chiropractor of Dracut, MA. The highlight of Mary Jo’s professional career was traveling both domestically and internationally as a nanny for her granddaughter Mavis with the Eilen Jewell Band. Mary Jo was a faithful Communicant of St. Joseph the Worker in Nashua, NH, Holy Cross of Vero Beach and St. Anastasia Church of Fort Pierce, FL. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Polish American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary of Lowell, MA.

In addition to her loving husband she is survived by her son, Brian and daughter-in-law Celeste Beek of Pepperell, a son Jason Beek and daughter-in-law Eilen Jewell of Boise, Idaho, 3 grandchildren whom she cherished, Spencer, Cassidy and Mavis Beek, a beloved sister, Kathleen Lemoine and brother-in-law Robert Lemoine of Orange, a sister-in-law, Donna Beek of Tyngsboro MA, 4 nieces; Christian Gronblom of Portsmouth, NH, Kaitlyn Stanley of Orange MA, Kristina Wilmot of Worcester, Elisha Chretien Lemoine of Manchester NH, a nephew, Joseph Lachance of Japan and brother-in-law Michael Smith and her “Bestie friend” of 68 years, Arlene Urbanak Dehaney of Southern Florida as well as several other nieces, nephews, and cousins along with many friends she met around the globe. Mary-Jo was predeceased by her sister Patricia Smith. Mary Jo, may you continue to shine your “sparkle” and rise in Glory!

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 24, at 11 am at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 West Hollis St., NASHUA. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CHURCH. You are kindly invited to pray with the family remotely during the Mass via livestream at stjoenash.org if you are not able to attend in person. Interment to follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, LOWELL. In lieu of flowers, please have Masses said for the repose of Mary-Jo’s soul at a parish of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT.
