Obituary for Mary P. (Shaw) McOsker
Mary P. (Shaw) McOsker, age 86, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William McOsker with whom she enjoyed 43 years of marriage.
She was born in Lowell on June 15, 1936 and was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Witts) Shaw.
Mary worked for many years as an administrative assistant for the IRS. In her spare time, she loved taking trips to the beach. Her favorites included Salisbury Beach, where she spent time as a child, York Beach, Maine, and especially Yarmouth on Cape Cod where she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. Mary also liked to go bowling, read, and watch football and baseball games. She enjoyed cheering on the Patriots and Red Sox as often as she could. Most of all, Mary cherished the time she spent with her family.
Mary is survived by her children, Patricia A. O’Malley and her husband Timothy of Dracut, and Barbara A. McOsker of Lowell; her grandchildren, Joshua O’Malley and his wife Stephene of Pensacola, FL, Corey O’Malley of Dracut, Candace McOsker and Shane Walsh of Lowell; her great-grandchild, Jamie O’Malley; her siblings, William Shaw and his wife Irene of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Dorothy White of Dracut; her in-laws, Robert and Janet McOsker of Pepperell and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary is predeceased by her daughter, Marianne McOsker; sister-in-law, Shirley Hoare; and her dachshund dogs, Molly and Rudy.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 14th from 1pm to 4pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, 144 East Merrimack St., LOWELL. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, CHELMSFORD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Lowell Humane Society at www.lowellhumanesociety.org or by mail to, Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St., Lowell, MA 01854.
