Obituary for Maurice "Moe" Pelletier

Maurice “Moe” Pelletier, age 89, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in the arms of his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Aline D. (Hardy) Pelletier with whom he enjoyed 61 years of marriage.

He was born in Chelmsford on April 5, 1933 and was the son of the late Antoine O. and Irene M. (Auger) Pelletier.

Maurice was the proud co-owner and operator of Pelletier Bros. Garage for over 50 years. His work was his passion and a true labor of love. He loved working on vehicles and proudly passed on the trade to the next generation. When not working, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and bird watching. For decades, he and his brothers went hunting several times a year for deer, partridge, moose and bear. They also enjoyed fishing in the spring and fall as well as ice fishing in the winter. His greatest joy was time spent with his family and sharing traditions. He loved cookouts, trying his luck at the casino and trips with his family to Disneyworld, Maine, and Canada.

In addition to his loving wife, Maurice is survived by his daughter Mona (Pelletier) Breton and her husband Daniel Sr. of Dracut, his grandchildren, Jason Breton of Dracut and Daniel Breton Jr. and his wife Chelsea of Hudson, NH, who are soon expecting his first great-grandchild, Baby B; his siblings, Raymond Pelletier and his wife Lorraine of Lowell, Roger Pelletier of Lowell, Paul Pelletier and his wife Mary of Dracut, and Irene Ferreira of Lowell; his brothers-in-law, Andre Hardy and his wife Connie, George Hardy and his wife Cathy and Normand Hardy and his wife Catherine; his sisters-in-law, Mickey Pelletier, Lise Pelletier, Gertrude Lougee and her husband Reginald, and Suzanne Hardy; and many loving godchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Antoine Pelletier and his wife Theresa, Victor Pelletier, and Leo Pelletier; his brothers-in-law, Roger “Hoss” Ferreira, and Louie Hardy; and his sister-in law, Lorraine Pelletier; godchild Sharon (Pelletier) Martin and nephew Paul Pelletier.
