Obituary for Michael “Rocco” D. DiRocco
Michael “Rocco” D. DiRocco, age 49, a lifelong resident of Dracut, passed away at his home on Friday, March 24, 2023 peacefully.
He was born in Lowell on September 24, 1973 and was the son of Dominic Michael Jr. and Janet A. (Jakuttis) DiRocco. He was the beloved partner and best friend of Sheila Bailey of Dracut.
Michael worked as a mechanic for several years servicing waste management. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and spending time in the mountains. He was a former member of the Dracut Sportsmen’s Club. He was also a passionate fan of NASCAR racing. Michael was happiest in the company of his family and friends and loved casual gatherings and cookouts in his mother’s back yard or at his dad’s garage.
In addition to his loving parents and partner, Michael is survived by his sister, Sandra DiRocco of Dracut; his nieces and nephew, Alexis DiRocco, Louie "Lou" DiRocco, and Nena DiRocco; and his cherished cat, Kitty. He was predeceased by his uncle, Joseph Jakuttis.
Funeral service and interment will be held at Oakland Cemetery, in Dracut at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s memory to the ASPCA.
