Paul H. Paquette, age 79, a resident of Hudson, NH, passed away at Community Hospice House on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was born in Lowell, MA on May 23, 1944 and was the son of the late Henry and Pauline (Patenaude) Paquette.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie (Mullen) Paquette, to whom he was married over 59 years. He was the father of two beloved children: his son Mark Paquette Sr. and his wife Heather of Tewksbury, MA and his daughter Kathleen (Paquette) DeVito of Londonderry, NH and her late husband, Paul DeVito, formerly of Hudson, NH. He also leaves six adoring grandchildren, Michaela Robinson and her husband Andrew, Andrew Jenkins, Jenna DeVito, Monica Paquette, Mark Paquette Jr., and P. Joseph Paquette and his wife Nicole. He leaves six great-grandchildren as well, Rafael, Daylani, Aiden, Kona, Mia and Aurora. He also leaves his sister Diane (Paquette) DeRosa and her husband Richard DeRosa of Hudson, NH along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Paul married the love of his life, Leslie, in the summer of 1964. Together they raised two wonderful children they were exceedingly proud of. Paul had a deep love and respect for his wife, Leslie, that served as a loving example for his children and grandchildren. Since retirement, Paul enjoyed spending time with Leslie and the entire family, especially when vacationing at York Beach in Maine. He also enjoyed golfing and playing cribbage with his many friends from Mission Pointe in Hudson, NH.
Paul attended Lowell High School, Class of 1961, Andover Institute of Business and Bently College. Paul’s career began with a management position at Firestone in Nashua, NH with stops at B.F. Goodrich, then Merchant’s Tire (Lowell, MA) before landing his dream position at BJ’s Wholesale Club for 18 years before retiring in 2010. While at BJ’s, he held the position of President and Board member of BJ’s ME, NH and Mercer Trust. Over the years Paul also enjoyed membership in the Nashua, NH Kiwanis Club, West Springfield, MA Lion’s Club and was a member and one time director of the Rotary Club in Lowell, MA. He also served as the President of the Mission Pointe Condo Association for 6 years.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 27th from 1pm to 4pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, 144 East Merrimack St., Lowell. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
