Obituary for Dr. Peter C. Niarhos, DMD

Dr. Peter C. Niarhos, DMD, age 62, a resident of Boston, formerly of Dracut, passed away at his home on Monday, September 19, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Tina Marie (Weinburg) Niarhos with whom he enjoyed 35 years of marriage.

He was born in Lowell on March 12, 1960 and was the son of the late Costas and Stella (Kapetanakis) Niarhos.

Peter was a graduate of the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He owned and operated Merrimack Valley Dental and Affordable Dental, both located in Dracut. Peter was a true entrepreneur. In addition to his dental practices, he owned several other businesses in Dracut including Soft Suds Car Wash, Nova Farms Marijuana Dispensary, Four Oaks Country Club, and Grazie Wood Fired Grill. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing golf, was a Celtics season ticket holder, and a fan of the Boston teams, especially the Red Sox. Peter was active in his Greek community and was a member of the Messinian Club, and a parishioner of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He appreciated good food and fine wine. A self-proclaimed foodie, he enjoyed eating out at the best restaurants. He had fond memories of travels to Greece, his home in Stoupa, and Florida. Peter believed in education. He accomplished his mission to ensure that all three of his children received a college degree. He was an avid reader, reading as many as 6 newspapers each day. He adored his dog Peanut, who was his constant companion.

Above all, family was the focus of his life. He was devoted to his parents and lovingly supported and cared for them. His children and his grandson, who is named after him, were his true joy. The holidays were a special time and he loved Thanksgiving, Greek Easter, and Christmas. He always made it a point to buy something special for each of his children. Peter was grateful for his many blessings and was honored to share them with others. His home was an open door to family and friends. He will be remembered as loyal, strong, and kind and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his loving wife, Peter is survived by his children, Alexandra (Niarhos) Kile and her husband Austin of Stamford, CT, Jacquelyn Niarhos and her husband Jeffrey L’Heureux of Portland, ME, and Costas Niarhos of Belgium; his grandson, Peter L'Heureux; many aunts, uncles, and cousins in both the US and Greece; and several nieces and nephews. Peter also leaves many close friends that will miss him terribly.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 23rd from 4pm to 8pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell. Interment will follow in Westlawn II Cemetery, Lowell.
