Raymond R. Larose, age 78, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Rita (Dame) Larose with whom he enjoyed 57 years of marriage.
He was born in Lowell on May 20, 1945 and was the son of the late Raymond A. and Aline L. (Beauchesne) Larose.
Raymond was a graduate of Dracut High School. He proudly served in the Army National Guard for 35 years and was also employed by the Army National Guard as a heavy equipment mechanic until his retirement. In his later years, he worked at Sam’s Club and also operated a backyard greenhouse business. Raymond had a passion for model trains. He had a room dedicated to his trains and enjoyed spending his time creating city scenes. When not building with his own collection, he loved going to train shows. He was also an avid fan of the Patriots. Raymond and Rita enjoyed visits to state fairs, going to Foxwoods, and road trips. He had wonderful memories of family trips to Florida, where they held a season pass to Disney, York Beach Maine, and North Conway New Hampshire.
In addition to his loving wife, Raymond is survived by his children, Ronald R. Larose and his wife Maria of Franklin, and Elaine J. Dunfey and her husband Paul of Lowell; his grandchildren, Sean, Alan, and Steven Paquette, Anthony and Rita Larose, and Katherine and Julia Dunfey; his great grandchildren, Kairi and Ethan Paquette, and Tessa Furnari; his siblings, Robert Larose and his wife Barbara of Florida, and Linda Purcell and her husband Daniel of Chelmsford; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, September 15th from 9am to 11am at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut followed by a graveside service at 11:30 am at St. Joseph Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
