Obituary for Rene Parent
Rene Parent, age 83, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Saturday, April 30, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Ogonowski) Parent with whom he enjoyed 51 years of marriage.
He was born in Lowell on January 20, 1939 and was the son of the late Fernand A. and Clarina (Pelletier) Parent.
Rene grew up in Lowell and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School. After high school he joined the United States Army. He worked for UMass Lowell in the HVAC Department until he retired. Rene enjoyed travelling, especially spending time relaxing in the tropics.
In addition to his loving wife, Rene is survived by his sisters-in-law, Jane Jenkins, Ann Okun, Donna Ogonowski, Joyce Parent and Nellie Parent, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and kitty cats Chi-chi and Charlie.
In addition to his parents, Rene is predeceased by his brothers Fernand Parent and Leon Parent; and his brothers-in-law, Billy Jenkins and Ted Ogonowski.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 14th at 11:00 am at Richardson Cemetery, Broadway Rd., Dracut.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to a charity of your choice.
