Obituary for Richard L. Pennachi

Richard L. Pennachi, 64, a resident of Dracut, passed away on Sunday April 10, 2022 at Fairhaven Healthcare Center in Lowell.

He was born in Lowell on August 17, 1957 and was the son of June Ann (Smith) Pennachi and the late Joseph A. Pennachi.

He worked as an electronics assembler for many years. He had also worked as “the bad guy cowboy” at the old Benson’s Wild Animal Farm in Hudson, NH. In his younger years, Richard served in the US Army for a short period of time.

Richard was very creative and enjoyed making jewelry. He really found comfort in the outdoors and all it had to offer. He loved the mountains, climbing Mount Monadnock and travelling to various state parks across the country. He had a great knowledge of archeology an would often be found searching for dinosaur bones, gold, silver and different types of rocks and stones. He also liked to take rides looking for meteorites.

In addition to his mother, Richard is survived by his siblings; Joseph F. Pennachi and his wife Mary of CA, Michael A. Pennachi of Kittery ME, Edward J. Pennachi and his wife Karen of Pelham, NH and Ernest L. Pennachi of Dracut, his nieces and nephew; Kristen, Sarah, Michael, Rachael and Olivia. He will also be missed by his longtime friend Terry Yau.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sister Theresa and sister-in-law Donna.

Public visiting hours have been omitted. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass on Thursday, April 14 at 10 o’clock at St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish, 1340 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
