Obituary for Richard A Strong
Richard A. Strong, age 80, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Bette-Gail Strong.
He was born in Leominster on December 18, 1941 and was the son of the late Gordon and Francis Strong.
He grew up in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School. After High School, he joined the Army and was honorably discharged in 1965. In 1986, he received his MBA from New Hampshire College. Richard loved doing yard work, feeding the birds and watching sports. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following The Patriots, The Red Sox, The Celtics and The Bruins. He also had quite the sweet tooth and enjoyed eating his sweets.
Richard is survived by his three children, Sheryl A. Mone and her husband Charles of Lowell, Richard Strong Jr. and his wife Janice of Chelmsford, and Jeffrey Strong and his wife Julie of Westford; his eight grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and his dog, Spencer.
In addition to his wife and parents, Richard is predeceased by his siblings, Sheila Clark, Gordon Strong, and William Strong.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 3pm to 6pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. Interment will be private.
