Obituary for Robert R. "Bob" Lemire

Robert R. “Bob” Lemire, age 81, a resident of Dracut, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Friday, February 4, 2022 from complications of Covid 19. He was the beloved husband of M. Annette (Bargiel) Lemire with whom he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on February 12th.

He was born in Lowell on November 26, 1940 and was the son of the late Albert and Regina (Leblanc) Lemire.
Bob grew up in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1959. After graduation he joined the United States Navy and served 4 honored years in the military during the Vietnam war. Bob continued his education while in the Navy, earning his license as an aircraft mechanic. His first job was with Eastern Airlines, where he would spend 23 years. Overall, he spent nearly 35 proud years serving in the airline industry.

After Bob retired in 2005, he started his own business, Bob’s Tiny Jobs. This was another dream come true, helping people and being his own boss. Bob enjoyed working with his hands, woodworking, being outside, gardening, fishing, and hunting. He was an avid reader as well as a short order cook. He will be remembered for his quick wit and especially for being a devoted family man.

In addition to his loving wife, Bob is survived by his devoted children, Michelle O’Neil and her husband Sean of Hudson NH, Jen Lemire, Salem NH, Jeffrey Lemire and his wife Angela of Dracut, and Catherine Verdi and husband Robert of Dracut; his grandchildren, Colin and Liam O'Neil, Jared M. Lemire, Caitlyn Verdi and her fiancé Michael Bliss, and Dylan Verdi; his sister, Elaine Calarese and her husband John of Franklin; and his brother Raymond Lemire; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by is infant son, Robert Lemire; grandson, Nicholas Loiselle and his sister in-law, Susan Lemire.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 10th from 4pm to 7pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. Masks are kindly encouraged, and social distancing guidelines will be in place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11am at St. Kathryn Parish, 4 Dracut Rd., HUDSON, NH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.
