Obituary for Robert L. Lussier

Robert L. Lussier, 88, a longtime Dracut resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at D’Youville Senior Care Center, Lowell, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marie F. (Elie) Lussier with whom he shared nearly 59 years of marriage.

Robert, “Bob,” was born in Lowell on August 10, 1934, and was the son of the late Armand and Lillian (Roberge) Lussier. He attended Catholic schools in Lowell, including St. Jeanne d’Arc, Keith Academy, and St. Joseph’s High School, where he graduated as a member of the Class of 1952. Bob remained an active member of the St. Joseph’s Alumni Committee for much of his life.

After graduating from high school, Bob went to work for the Lowell Sun newspaper, where he served as a circulation manager and from which he retired after 40 years.

Outside of work, Bob was committed to his family and looked forward each year to spending a vacation week with his children and grandchildren at Hampton or Rye Beaches in New Hampshire. Bob was also an active member of the St. Therese’s Men’s Club in Dracut.

In addition to his loving wife Marie, Robert leaves his four children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild: daughter Renee Paquette and her husband Dana of Hudson, NH; grandson Geoffrey Paquette and fiancée Amanda Cote and great-granddaughter Madelynn of Nashua, NH; son, Robert Lussier and wife Jenny of Mason, NH; son David Lussier and wife Colleen and grandchildren Emma, Benjamin, and Charlotte of Medfield, MA; and daughter Nicole Lussier and her partner, Katherine Chillscyzn of Atkinson, NH. Bob is also survived by his two sisters, Doris Leveille of Nashua, NH and Therese Beaudoin of North Andover, MA.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 10 am at St. Marguerite D’Youville, 1340 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
