Obituary for Ruth R. Martin (Arnold)
Ruth Martin, age 79, a resident of Hudson, NH, formerly a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away at Bridges by EPOCH at Nashua on November 26, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Martin with whom she enjoyed 45 years of marriage before his passing in 2005.
She was born in Lowell on January 3, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Hopkins) Arnold.
Ruth was raised and educated in Lowell. She graduated from Lowell High School. She was retired from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell where she worked for many years. Ruth enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods, cooking, decorating her home, and playing Bingo. Most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Ruth is survived by her children, David Martin and his wife Susan of Methuen, Susan Martin and her spouse Joanne Santino of Nashua, NH, and Tracey Martin of Weston, FL; her grandchildren, Christopher Martin and Isabella Perez; her sister, June Whiting; sister in-law, Mary Sayer; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth is predeceased by her beloved sister, Bette-Gail Strong and her husband Richard, and her brother, Robert Arnold.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 4th from 2pm to 5pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. A funeral home service will be held on Monday at 9am at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org.
