Obituary for Shirley A. (Cassell) Parent

Shirley A. (Cassell) Parent, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 15, 2023 surrounded by her large loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Lucian Albert Parent. She was 87 years old.

Shirley was born in Dover, NH, a daughter of the late Michael and step-mother Dorothy Cassell.

Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to caring for her children. She lovingly welcomed her 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren into her family.

Shirley enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and Patriots games. During her free time, she enjoyed playing card games with her family and playing bingo with her friends at the assisted living facility.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her children: Steven Alphee Parent and his wife Cindy (Hathaway) of Winston Salem, NC, Dale Robert Parent and his wife Deborah (Chakarian) Parent of Chelmsford, Joan Janet (Parent) Psomos her husband Paul Psomos of Lowell, Collette Eileen (Parent) Santos-Jolliffe and her husband Kevin G. Jolliffe of Pelham, NH and Kathleen Marie (Parent) Brodeur and her husband Bradford Brodeur of Londonderry, NH. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Julie Ann Parent of Irving, TX and her sister-in-law, Pat Parent of VT.

Shirley also leaves her 18 grandchildren: Joseph Parent, Chad Parent, Katrina Parent, Christy Weeks, Michelle Wilson Woodard, Maria Bevis, Lyndsay Machado, Monique Parent, Joseph Lamarche, Dawn Marie McCullough, Mickey Herrera, Derek Santos, Justin Jolliffe, Ben Brodeur, Chris Brodeur, Laura Brodeur, Nikki Wells and Danielle Tingley and her 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lucien; her sons; Michael Lucien Parent, Joseph James Parent and Dean A. Parent. Also, her many brother and sister in-laws that have passed on before her.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 20th from 3pm to 6pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave, DRACUT. Her Funeral Service and Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Shirley’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at or the MSPCA at
