Obituary for Therese C. Dastous (Jutras)
Therese C. (Jutras) Dastous, age 90, a resident of Litchfield, NH, formerly of Lowell, passed away at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH on Sunday, January 1, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Paul J. Dastous with whom she enjoyed 40 years of marriage until his passing in 1994.
She was born in Lowell on September 18, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Regina (Laforest) Jutras.
Therese was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in 1949. She worked as a legal secretary for 15 years. In 1978, she and Paul opened Terri’s Hallmark in Chelmsford, which they owned and operated for 17 years. Therese loved reading, knitting, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, volunteering at Catholic Medical Center, cats, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Therese is survived by her five children, Rachel Zajac Yellope and her husband Joe of Lincoln, ME, Colette Langlois and her husband Richard of Tyngsboro, Susan Dastous of Litchfield, NH, Andrew Dastous and his wife Gloria of Nashua, NH, and Reina Dastous and her husband Alexander Strysky of Northfield; her grandchildren, Jamie Roman and her husband Billy, Timothy Langlois and his wife Qiao Zhou, Gregory Langlois, Keri Dastous, Sarah Langlois, Anastasia Strysky, and Tatiana Strysky; her great-grandchildren, Anthony Roman, Lucia Roman, Zoe Langlois, and Jackson Langlois; and her sister, Violet Ogiba.
Therese is predeceased by her husband, Paul and sisters, Beatrice Lague and Rita Murphy.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 9th from 4pm to 7pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10am at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, 95 Lakeview Ave., Tyngsboro. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd, Merrimack, NH 03054.
